Health And Fitness Apps For Your iPhone

By Thom Yarbrough

Technology might have made us lazier than we ought to be, but there are some ways in which we can actually reverse the process and make technology work for us so we can become healthier. Some people might be aware of the various apps on iTunes which help you regain your health and fitness patterns as before, but there are so many of them out there that we often don't know which ones would be most helpful for us. Here's a look at some of these apps for your iPhone which will help you regain a measure of fitness at least.

Yoga Tutorial

Everyone knows how helpful yoga can be in not just becoming fit but also letting go of your stressful attitude towards life. While we all want to learn yoga and become fit and keen in our lives, we often don't know where to make a beginning. The Yoga Tutorial in iTunes is an app where you can learn all that you need to know before embarking on yoga. This app connects you to videos which demonstrate how yoga has to be performed correctly and there's also plenty of yoga related music which can help you calm down considerably.

Eight Glasses a Day

We all know that we need to drink at least eight glasses of water in a day but how often do we follow that advice? We mostly tend to forget it and probably drink only four or five glasses of water a day. Now, here's an app which reminds you to drink your eight glasses. The screen is populated with eight full glasses of water and throughout the day as you drink a glass, you can tap a glass and it will get emptied! If you finish all eight in a day, you will be rewarded with some cool facts about how drinking water helps you. A handy app for those who tend to be forgetful.

Six Pack App

If you've always craved to have the body of a model, especially the rock hard six pack abs, then this app might put you on a path towards realising that dream. Download the Six Pack App from iTunes and check out the different exercises, more than 400 pictures and detailed descriptions on how to target your chest, shoulders, back, legs, biceps and triceps. Surely a valuable app for the fitness fanatic, and what's more, it's completely free!

Meal Diary

It is true, that most often our excess weight is put by binging on food and eating more than we have to. Isn't it hard to keep a track of all that you eat all day? It was suggested earlier to keep a diary that will help you monitor your food intake every day but with the iPhone age, that seems pointless simply because, you can now get better results with the Meal Diary app on your iPhone. With a mere two taps, you can now find out just how much your intake has been and how many calories you burnt. Meals can also be classified on the basis of small, medium and large, and it's no question that using this app can easily become a routine.
